***TBDI reminder on AI policy***
Using AI for sermon outlines or essays is cheating. Using AI is not like consulting a commentary or getting Bible study ideas from listening to sermons. Rather, it is getting someone else to do the work you are professing to do. If you use AI, you are not doing the work yourself.
Cheating dishonors the Lord Jesus Christ, disrespects the instructors and staff, and also discredits the Institute and those who have honorably completed the coursework.
"Students are forbidden to use ChatGPT or other similar AI tools for research, writing assignments, or sermon outlines. Using these tools is considered a form of plagiarism and cheating. Students are also forbidden to utilize AI technology for transcribing audio lectures or summarizing lectures for note taking/testing purposes. ANY USE OF AI TECHNOLOGY IS CAUSE FOR IMMEDIATE EXPULSION."
I will add, this includes any use of AI to compose sermon outlines as found in WORD such as "copilot" or programs built for sermon preparation like "sermonAI".
This issue is not up for debate or consideration.
